Hey Stoopid!: Does Hoynes Know How to Read?

Plain Dealer Baseball Editor is Illiterate; Eric Snow Selfish for Not Retiring

Eric Snow won’t retire:
Hey, Branson: “Do you think that Eric Snow might retire to free up cap space?”-Betty, Cleveland

I’m sure it’s flattering to Snow to hear your opinion on him. You’re right that the Cavs might be better off without him, but I think the Cleveland Plain Dealer needs to have Paul Hoynes retire to free up cap space. Look at how stupid his comment was today.

Not a stoopid question here, but a really stupid answer:

Hey, Hoynsie: “Do you think that the season may be too long for C.C. Sabathia because of his weight issues?”-Tom, Gates Mills

Hoyne’s stoopid response:

Hey, Tom: “While Sabathia was winning 19 games a leading the majors with 241 innings pitched, no one said a word about his weight. Now that he’s struggled in the playoffs, suddenly his weight is an issue. That seems unfair to me.”

What?! Did he even read the question? Is the season too long? No one was saying that C.C.’s weight would hurt him in the regular season, because he hadn’t pitched many innings until the end of the season. Maybe if the season is too long, his weight will hurt him toward the end of the season and postseason. It’s a legitimate question based on how bad he’s been in the playoffs.
